The Lightning Rod is a structure that generates electricity, with each one generating 2 points per second. A player may build up to four Lighting Rods and are typically the first structure to be built in-game.
At least one Rod is required to unlock Advanced Structures Research and the Electrical Generator. This makes Lightning Rods essential as without them, a player would not be able to generate electricity at all.
